MTV Emerge supports unsigned Filipino artists

Posted: November 14th, 2009 | No Comments »

Last month, I saw the music video of our very own kababayan Apl.de.Ap with the song ‘Take Me to the Philippines”. Days after, I read some blog entries about his project called Jeepney Music and he collaborated with the Department of Tourism which made a lot of Filipinos, especially his fans happy and proud to be a Filipino.

While chatting with my friend who is a fan of Pinoy indie bands, she gave me the link to MTV Emerge. I found out that they have a contest going on for unsigned Filipino artists to showcase their talents. The smiled when I heard that the project is a MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration. Seven grand winners will be chosen and will sign a one year contract with Jeepney Music which will be handled by Apl de Ap himself! He will guide them in terms of digital distribution of songs […]

Icy Cooler Orange by Dunkin Donuts

Posted: November 13th, 2009 | No Comments »

Have you ever tried the Icy Coolers of Dunkin’ Donuts? I always order this whenever I grab a doughnut at Dunkin’ and my favorite is the Icy Cooler orange.
This orange drink tastes like the locally available instant powdered juices such as Tang or Eight O’ Clock. So if you like having those, then I’m sure […]

FlairCandy Blog Won Best Personal Blog

Posted: November 13th, 2009 | No Comments »

I posted this earlier, because I was not sure if we were allowed to word out the winners…

I received an e-mail from Janette Torral last Monday, November 9, stating that I won the “Best Personal Blog” in the Digital Filipino Web Awards.  I had to read the email at least five times just to make sure that I read it right!

I was happy to present five slides, prior to my awarding, about the best blogging practices for personal blogging.  My presentation did not take long (2 minutes) because my general message is that in personal blogging, you just need to be yourself.  You are your own niche!  People read your personal blog because your audience can relate to you.  Maintain your personal brand.  Fortunately, Vince videotaped my presentation so please do watch the space below for updates and uploads.

Longboarding at Bonifacio High Street

Posted: November 9th, 2009 | No Comments »

This is not my first time really. A friend taught me how to ride the basics before but they totally assisted me while I was on the board and I always had a “tukod” before. This night was actually my first time to “ride” it alone! Thanks to Vince of WhenInManila.com for being my lao shi, sensei, teacher XD.

At first he was afraid that I might smash my face to the ground or skate myself into deep potholes at the sides of the streets of The Fort XD But you know me better guys, I usually want to try new stuff and dangerous it may be or not, I’m game!!!

Preparing for my lesson

It’s nothing formal really. Vince is just casual about everything and he always reminds me to just relax and have fun! I didn’t have knee pads or elbow pads and other protective gear […]
