Saturdate – Our Favorite Buffet Restaurant

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

I’ve eaten at Tong Yang since I was a kid. Nowadays, this yakiniku/shabu-shabu restaurant has improved their menu and services. They have a promo of P399 net for lunch buffet on weekdays (except holidays).
They have a wide selection of hot pot and grill stuff which we love!

We tried the new Tong Yang at the new wing of Greenhills Promenade

These will go to the soup! We love getting the regular soup and the spicy one.

Regular and Spiceh!

When it comes to the sauce, Matt is the expert! I think he puts garlic overdose and a mixture of different sauces. I think more peanut sauce than anything else.

What I love about their buffet is unlimited food and drinks! There’s soda, iced tea and fruit juices!

At this particular branch, they have garlic rice.

We love our dose of meat

Grill time!

and after all that… time for dessert!

Matt has this thing of mixing the ice […]

This year, is my first time to ever set foot in Mindanao, first stop – Davao city for the Smart Live All Out: Araw ng Dabaw!

My first impression of Davao City:

Organized
No traffic
Friendly people

We arrived at Park Inn Hotel which is just right behind SM Lanang. Meet my room mate Ynnah, the famous Twitter manager of @TheseDamnQuote. You can also follow her personal account at @YnnahBonina.

When you find yourself in Davao, you gotta try the notorious/controversial fruit DURIAN! I have tried the real pulp of the real durian fruit and it was not something I jumped in joy for Durian shake sounded […]

Carmen’s Best Ice Cream

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

The people who have tried Carmen’s Best just has one thing to say “delicious!” I personally tried Carmen’s Best because my officemates bought one for a birthday celebrant. When I tried it, I just wanted more and ever since, I’ve been visiting their shop at The Market along LP Leviste st. It is my favorite “pasalubong”, gift, peace offering.

The Story of Carmen’s Best
What started out as Paco Magsaysay’s hobby, turned out to be something people have been craving for – Carmen’s Best ice cream! He had access to pure and fresh cow’s milk from the family’s dairy farm in laguna and it just seemed natural for him to try to make his own ice cream.

This hobby soon turned into a successful small business. In 2013, the family established a fresh milk processing plant in the country. In the same year, Paco also finished Penn State’s Ice Cream Short Cours with […]

Congratulations Century City Mall!
Last night, March 26, 2014, Century City Mal celebrated the grand opening with a grand gala featuring a collection of modern and futuristic fashion of Francis Libiran. Manila’s stylish personalities were gathered on the 4th level al fresco area.
As the highlight of the gala, the collection by Libiran introduced fashion forward features, including a number of pieces that promise to be some of the most visually arresting creations that graced the country’s runways.

With a construction cost of Php 1.4 billion, Century City Mall is called the Mall of Modern Makati for its unique architecture and good mix of Filipino and global retail and dining establishments. The five-level lifestyle center is accessible via Kalayaan Avenue near the corner of Salamanca street, as well as General Luna Street coming from Makati Avenue (near A Venue). Lourdes, France

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

Never would I have imagined myself going to Lourdes, France, me, being a heretic and purveyor of religious jokes.  I was traveling with my mom, aunts and uncles, and I understood that it was one of their life goals to visit this city.

Lourdes is located in Southern France, about a 6-hour train ride from Paris.  Lourdes looked nothing like Paris

The Super Delayed Post About Japan

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

No I have not quit blogging yet! Instead of posting another lengthy excuse, I’ll get straight to the point.
There’s a 90% chance I’m going to Japan with my family next March to experience Sakura, the once-in-a-blue-moon blooming of the cherry blossom trees, or as I’d like to call it, a “beautiful mess”. My mom had asked me to search for tickets online at the Delta Airways and Philippine

New Resolutions for 2012

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

It’s 2012 and I’m thinking “hey why not come up with a new set of resolutions and publish them in a blog post?”
But before I do that, let me share with you my 2010 list and see if I’m up to no good.
1. Have a complete set of abs. – Well I realized that this isn’t what I want. My abs are visible but not ripped, which is fine by me. HALF CHECK
2. Shop less, give more. – I have given away a

Lucerne, The Schnitzel and Other Swiss Concerns

Posted: January 1st, 1970 | No Comments »

Lucerne offered us a badly-needed break from urban Madrid. Trees, flowers, bushes, swans and lakes, it could not get any more zen-like than this quaint city (population: 59,000) of Switzerland. So ungodly is 8 o’ clock in the evening, that most shops pretty much closed by then, which sucks (big time). Quirks aside, Lucerne is as good as it gets. When I think Switzerland, I think of the majestic

Mercado de San Miguel

My first weekend in Madrid was certainly something to look forward to. My cousin Tinky promised to take us to the Mercado, a place she fondly describes as a Valhalla for foodies. She knew I loved good food. I think I love spending money on good food is more like it.
We kicked off the day commuting to the Sentro district of Madrid, where the shopping and the hustle and bustle converge into
