Royal Tru Orange Freeze by McDonald’s

Posted: September 30th, 2009 | No Comments »

When Ice Age 3 came out (which was so many months ago), McDonald’s launched a promotional drink to its customers – the Icy Blue Sprite and the Royal Tru Orange Freeze.
Months after, they no longer serve the Icy Blue Sprite but the Royal Tru Orange Freeze remained in their menu.
McDonald’s also now serves Coke Freeze, […]

Dory’s Flavored Lambanog

Posted: September 28th, 2009 | No Comments »

I remember when flavored lambanog was the choice of spirit of the urban youth. Years ago, in almost all house parties I go to, you can expect flavored coconut wine to be served.
Those were the thoughts going through my head when I saw this booth of Dory’s Lambanog while walking inside the One Town, One […]

Marikina: Mostly Affected by Typhoon Ondoy

Posted: September 28th, 2009 | No Comments »

Marikina is one of the city that Philippines should be proud for. Fernandos coined Marikina as “The Little Singapore” and “The City in the Pink of Health” for it’s effective governance.
During my elementary years, Bayani Fernando included “Marikina” in our HEKASI (Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika) subject. I still remember Marikina’s motto: Discipline, Good Taste, and Excellence and quote about garbage, Mumunting basura, ibulsa muna.

In front of Marikina Postal Office.
I can say that Marikina is nearly a perfect city but geographically at risk of dangerous natural calamities such as earthquake and massive flood.
According to our History teacher, Marikina is a valley. A low land which lies between high areas of Sierra Madre (east) and Quezon City (west). Cainta and Pasig are also part of this valley.
September 26, 2009, Saturday. I woke up at 2:45 PM, went downstairs and irritated by wet floor. It was raining hard and nobody was there. I […]

What Ondoy Did to our Workplace

Posted: September 27th, 2009 | No Comments »

Just got home from the hospital. I visited my grandmother who just underwent an angioplasty a few days ago. I wasn’t able to drop by yesterday because of the bad weather.

Outside Pinoy Parazzi's Office

Before going to the hospital, I went to our office at 2PM to work. Some parts of Panay Ave.is also muddy due to the typhoon yesterday. When I went down the tricycke, I was surpised upon seeing our office stuff (chairs, tables, computers etc) outside the building. I also caught my officemates clearing flood water in the office!

The Creative Department's Area

My Wet Workstation =(

I am really saddened with what happened. Seeing copies of our past issues soaking wet and the computers broken made each and every one of us panic. Ondoy caused us a lot we didn’t really anticipate this will happen.

Which one is mine? Which one is yours? Waaaah

As of writing, I am not even sure […]

Adding Milk To Tea May Not Be A Good Idea?

Posted: September 25th, 2009 | No Comments »

I love drinking milk tea. I usually make a tea latte in Starbucks or I have Lipton Milk Tea at home when I’m not in the mood for coffee.
But recently, I discovered an article that says adding milk to tea may not be a good idea because it eliminates the health benefits of tea.
A research […]

The Birth of Senyorita – The Travel Blog of Micamyx

Posted: September 25th, 2009 | No Comments »

I am happy to announce that I am finally launching SENYORITA.net, my travel blog!

What’s with the domain name? Well, I bought the domain last year because I wanted to venture into beauty and fashion blogging. Being a woman working in a place full of vanity makes you want to improve yourself in terms of your physical beauty and the way you dress. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to update the blog. For a while, the said domain became my anonymous emo blog (blame it on the fact that I became jobless on Christmas season pft). I deleted all the entries as soon as I recovered from a week of depression LOL.
Just early this year, I tried my best to keep myself updated in terms of the latest kikay stuff such as make-up, lipgloss, hairstyle etc. Still, I didn’t pursue it because I am not really vain. Fashion blogging is also a […]

Singapore 2009 and Backpacker Cozy Guesthouse

Posted: September 24th, 2009 | No Comments »

September 23 2009
We left Manila by 1:30pm and arrived in Singapore at around 4:30.  I was surprised that this time the plane (Cebu Pacific) landed at a different Airport Arrival area.  It arrived at the Low Cost airport.  Philippine Airlines (my plane to Singapore last year) arrived at Terminal 2.  Terminal 2 is where the trains and buses are.  Good thing there is a bus transfer from Terminal low cost to Terminal 2.  We took the MRT from there.

Adult E-Link tickets
I have a Singapore E-link card before and I just found out that it is replaced by an Adult E-Link card.  No worries about this as they replaced this with the new card while reserving the remaining balance.  Good thing I didn抰 have to buy another card because it has a non-refundable SGD5.
