Surfing Big Waves in La Union

Posted: July 18th, 2009 | No Comments »

I am not really in that level XD
It’s just the first time that I have seen La Union with these big waves and I am such a trying hard beginner!
The forecast at magicseaweed just showed a really gnarly swell in this area and me and my friends really planned this trip despite the risk of road trippin on some flodded provinces.  Luckily, the storm is leaving Philippines already! I was really looking forward riding some good stuff since I bought a new surf board!
I had to unpack my board at surfcamp and upload the pictures already.  Thanks to surf camp’s wi-fi!  I had no problem blogging on the go!
Right now I’m just too psyched! but I’m off to another surf em waves in probably about an hour so watch this space for more updates of our surf trip, pictures, reviews, more about my new board and how I would review it… […]

Taympers Muna!

Posted: July 17th, 2009 | No Comments »

A lot of exciting stuff happened to me the past few weeks. I met Anne Curtis at the HBC Baranggay Makeover event, I learned more about the benefits of Malunggay, I’ve seen the indie film Dose (which is not really as disturbing as we expected it to be), my father’s 5th year death anniversary, bought a ceramic piggy bank, ate talangkanin at Kaya Restaurant with the grannies, new assignments at work, attended the kadakwento premiere, discovered a very nice japanese restaurant near my place, went out with old friends, recorded boredom videos at Facebook, attended the Cinemalaya Cinco premiere and invested on a worthwhile project out of my earnings. Whew!
As much as I would like to blog about everything, I can’t do it for now (but I will – just give me enough time teehee). I am looking forward to the weekend because I’m about to pursue another passion of […]

Can Coffee Help You Become Sober?

I remember the days when I had a little bit of too much alcohol and my usual routine is to drink coffee to help me sober up.

And so I did a little research […]

Beach Hut Sunblock is made for Candy

Posted: July 10th, 2009 | No Comments »

THE STORY:
I went surfing for two consecutive weeks and when I got back to the office, my officemate Lush Angel said “Hannah!?!  You look like a local already!” … “OMG!  Look at your legs!“
… so I looked at it and I was like… “ZOMiGee!!! It’s charcoal!!!”

******FAINTSSSSS******

Before the surf trips, my complexion was darker than last year because of my constant trips to the beach and travels everywhere here in the Philippines and abroad.  After my surf heaven… I got supper tanned… Lying down the my board to catch some awesome waves includes me being grilled like crazy! like wow Hannah is that you??? I can only see your teeth and your eyes one!  T___T
To my every problem, I always find a solution! (Like the one where I have my monthly visitor on while surfing – to post about it soon)
Ah… Protection is bliss!  To every harmful and unexpected things… it […]

Let’s Talk About the Techy Romantics!

Posted: July 10th, 2009 | No Comments »

Just last month, a number of bloggers were invited at the  Philips Go Gear event at Bonifacio High Street. Aside from the games and presentation of the newest techy gadgets, a number of bands played much to the delight of the guests. One of the bands who made that event very memorable is the indie band Techy Romantics. I am not really familiar with the band until I saw them perform onstage. Their sound reminds me of The Cardigans (Erase/Rewind, Grand Turismo, Lovefool).
The other night, I was lucky to meet Dondi Virrey, the one in-charge with the samples and keys. Thanks to our common friend Chiko Lara. I later on found out a few information regarding the indie band which will soon invade the music scene.

The Techy Romantics are composed of Camyl Besinga, Ryan Villena, and Dondi Virrey. The group was formed June 2008. Their music is clearly based on the […]
