A Very SHIOK Discovery at The Fort

Posted: March 9th, 2010 | No Comments »

So shiok nia!
– I’ve learned that phrase from my Malaysian friends who taught me a little bit of their language.

What is the meaning of Shiok?
Shiok is commonly used in Singapore and Malaysia. The word “shiok” is used to convey a feeling of sheer pleasure and happiness.  It could also mean “Delicious” or “masarap”.”
“shiok is more like an expression of satisfactory”
-Aaron (friend from Malaysia)

For example:
WOW! This Char Kway Teow is damn shiok nia!
or… Last night was so shiok loh…
or… Your new car so shiok!

A Very Shiok Restaurant!

Last Wednesday, we went to The Fort to discover a new dining place.  I was so excited as the restaurant serves food which is very close not only to my stomach but also to my heart as well.  I have an affection for Southeast Asian food especially from Singapore, Malaysia and HongKong.  Sometimes, I crave the food there and I dream of jet-setting to those […]

Mountain Adventure in Cantipla Stream

Posted: March 9th, 2010 | No Comments »

Somewhere 20 kilometers away from the city is a small village of Cantipla where life is simple and vegetables are only 15php per kilo.
Last Sunday I had the opportunity along with my classmates in Cebu Velez College Biology department, to go to Cantipla Stream. The original plan was actually to go to my uncle raul’s […]

Pictures of the Best and Worst Dressed Celebrities on the 82nd Oscars 2010

Posted: March 8th, 2010 | No Comments »

The Best Dressed.
Sandra Bullock was definitely one of the most glamorous ladies in the 2010 Oscars.  Not only did she win Best Actress in a Leading role, she also wins the Best Dressed for the night.  She wore a channeled old Hollywood with a metallic sheath and embroidered lace.  This looked really classy on her.
Kristen Stewart graced the night in a midnight blue Monique Lhuillier gown.  I think people are used to seeing her in dark clothes these days that this her dress really looked classy and chic on her.  The only problem is she does not have much stage presence when she’s up the stage to presend the award.
Penelope Cruz was as sexy as her accent during the night.  She presented the award on stage on a dusky red Donna Karan gown.  Red really suits Penelope.  Although, I would have preferred her to wear a dress that would allow […]

Back from the City of Puerto Princesa

Posted: March 8th, 2010 | No Comments »

Just arrived from the beautiful city of Puerto Princesa three nights ago. I spent four days and three nights at the so-called “City Within the Forest” with my dear friends Ada and Shena. I was looking forward for the said trip due to the following reasons: 1.) We didn’t have concrete plans in mind 2.) We’re all first-timers and 3.) My dad once tried his luck in Puerto Princesa and even considered moving there to start a new life ten years ago.

Trying to punch away reality to live in a fantasy dream at Sabang Beach, Puerto Princesa, Palawan

I can say that the said trip to Palawan is the best trip ever. A lot of realizations were made and the beauty of the Philippines is much more appreciated. You would have thought that Underground River, which i can describe as ‘wonderfully weird’  is found in our very own country? Who would […]

“Thank You and Ingat!” – John Lloyd Cruz

Posted: March 8th, 2010 | No Comments »

John Lloyd Cruz is undeniably one of the most talented actors in the country today. Not only that – he is also an effective product endorser. No wonder he has a number of deals under his belt including a pizza food chain, clothing line, shoe brand, mobile phone, canned good among others. Of course, the most-loved and sincere among them all is his Biogesic campaign with the popular tagline “Ingat!”

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo with the Cast and Crew of Miss You Like Crazy

Most of his fans miss him already in the ABS-CBN Primetime Bida block. He was last seen as Armando in the Philippine version of I Love Betty La Fea where he was paired with long-time screen partner, Bea Alonzo. To be honest, I am a big John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo fanatic. I’ve seen all their movies – My First Romance, Now That I Have You, Close […]

It is also known for its several affordable restaurants there […]

I made a previous post about Sutukil in Mactan Cebu and as promised I am now going to give my review about Manna Sutukil.
We were actually together with mom’s friend: Tita Ara Ramiro and her family. One thing I like about Manna Sutukil is that they actually had an air conditioned room. (but no […]

Who has the Most Gulp on the 7-Elections?

Posted: March 7th, 2010 | No Comments »

Beginning the 10th of March 2007, 7-Eleven Philippines will be giving the entire Filipino nation a voice in the upcoming Presidential elections.  This is through their current program “7-elections”.”
This project was initialized first by the US on their 2000 elections and has run for 3 consecutive national elections.  On that, 7-Eleven partnered with two of the most prominent news networks in the U.S. – CNN and USA Today.  The poll was very informal but polling was able to provide the public with daily and weekly poll results.
In the U.S., while the poll may be informal, evidence hit from the U.S. precedent revealed surprisingly accurate results.  It revealed a one-to-two percent discrepancy between actual numbers from the U.S. voters versus the 7-Election participants.

7-Eleven aims to do that here in the Philippines as well.  7-Eleven hopes to highlight the Filipino’s Presidential options but making sure that all the Presidentiables—the top five, namely, […]

The Cat Lost Her Grin

Posted: March 6th, 2010 | No Comments »

It’s a very curious week as movie stores shows “Alice in Wonderland” the movie by Tim Burton.
Well! I’ve often seen a cat without a grin; but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!
– Alice

Like the Cheshire cat, I always grin… I’m always sweet like the candy that I am… Even when tired, you can still see me smile
Laughter…
I laugh at the smallest things… I appreciate the littlest things in life.
One thing I enjoy the most is to spend time with loved ones… then I am happy…

Silly…
I was never afraid to get silly… All of us need to let loose and just be silly and innocent sometimes…

I don’t know what I’m talking about here (as always)… I just know that I seem to have lost my grin…

I am attached to my grin… Remember this blog post?

Can someone please find it […]

Unboxing the Michael Antonio Kiley Pumps

Posted: March 5th, 2010 | No Comments »

Before I went to Cebu for a business trip, I had to choose one pair of shoes…
My Choices are (take a deep breath):

I know right??? So hard to choose because ALL of them look NICE!!!  I love how the shoes are designed classy and elegant yet very stylish as well.  I love the heels!!! They look super sexy don’t they… the heels look tall and elegant yet they give a sturdy support when you use them…
Love the pumps and the open sandals ^_^
But wait… there’s more!!!

Now this set shows Michael Antonio’s wedge shoes design… They are very fun to look at, I’m pretty sure they’d be more fun when worn!
Also, in this set are some boots and shooties/booties!
I dig the one on the lower left most part   The shooties’ design is very basic and general that I think I can wear them for anything like even with my […]

Globe launched their UnliMAIL to us bloggers with style.
I say this is my first time to be in BlueWater Day Spa.  I felt like a princess for an hour or two as they pampered me by giving a foot and back massage.  Ah… just what I need for a very long day of work.
