Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a celebration that marks the end of the fasting month – Ramadan.  Yes, it was holiday for us here in the Philippines too with respect to Muslim traditions.  End of Ramadan means a break after a month of sacrifice and Muslims often gather and set up sundown and vibrant bazaars in Kampong Glam and Geylang Serai.

In Loving Memory of AJ Matela

BAKLA AKO, MAY REKLAMO?! I remember the first time I browsed his website baklaako.com when I was still based in Dagupan City. He is considered as one of the real influential bloggers in the Philippine Blogosphere and he somewhat inspired a lot of people (men and women) to come out of the closet. He blogs […]

Sentosa – iFly, Segway, Sky Ride, Tiger Tower

Posted: September 7th, 2011 | No Comments »

On our last day in Singapore, we snuck in an afternoon trip to Sentosa to experience: Segway, 4D Cinema, Tiger Tower and the Sky Ride.
We all wanted to try the iFly, but we lacked time.  iFly is a Sky Diving simulator.

You are literally defying gravity here because you will be flying with no harness or anything at all – without the many dangers of Sky Diving.  Pretty cool huh?  iFly is Sentosa’s newest attraction.  The iFly will take at least 2 hours of your time because they need to quickly train you.
Our afternoon started with a hearty lunch at Tastes of Asia.

We met the ladies who keep Sentosa interesting and fun!

I ordered Barley for drinks and Spaghetti.  Everyone in our table ordered either Laksa or Chicken Rice.  I was in […]

I waited until the very last day to post my entries for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2011 because I thought it would be better to see first which blogs are qualified this year before I make my decision. So alas, after careful consideration, it’s now time for me to pass the torch to […]

KL Tower – Menara Kuala Lumpur

Posted: September 6th, 2011 | No Comments »

I’ve been to Malaysia a few times, but I’ve never gone up either the KL Tower or the Petronas Towers.
But alas, on our day trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I finally experienced it!

This is the KL Tower or the Menara Kuala Lumpur
Malay vocubulary 101:
Menara means Tower

The KL Tower is used mainly for communication purposes. this is currently the second tallest freestanding tower in the world.
You can climb the tower via stairs – or use the high speed elevators to come up. I advice the elevators, no doubt about that
Apart from this tower being used for communication purposes, it has also been a tourist attraction.

And, one of the tourists is me.  Got this nice view of the Petronas Towers!

Above the tower is a 360 degrees observation deck with powerful telescopes.

Our […]

Port Klang to Thean Hou Temple

Posted: September 6th, 2011 | No Comments »

Malaysia is a multi-cultural country.  Mostly resided by Malay and Chinese people.  A lot of Filipinos and other expats now live here as well.
With this, they have mosques, churches and chinese temples.
We were sailing aboard the SuperStar Virgo overnight from Singapore and docked early morning at Port Klang, Malaysia.  It was a very nice experience.  I slept, when we were in Singapore – and when I woke up, this was my view

This was our view of the port while we were enjoying a festive breakfast buffet at the Mediterranean restaurant.  I swear, food never ran out and I gained like 3 pounds over the trip – but I don’t care!
Food is part of the trip and I choose to enjoy it!

Port Klang looked gloomy as it rained early in […]

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa – Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu

Posted: September 5th, 2011 | No Comments »

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is located in Mactan Island of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. I have heard of this place 2 years ago and it is one of the nicest resorts in the Philippines. It is a 30 to 45-minute ride from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The resort is absolutely fabulous. Funny when I went there, […]

Live Louder Than Life at Grand Prix Season Singapore

Posted: September 5th, 2011 | No Comments »

A lot of people ask me what to expect when they watch the Singpaore Grand Prix.  I often say,

“It’s Louder Than Life”

The people who go here are not necessarily motorsports enthusiasts but they are people who don’t want to miss out on all the fun that the Grand Prix Season Singapore has to offer.
LOUD F1 Singapore Street Race at Night

One, you get to witness a LOUD street race! I brought my boyfriend with me a year ago and he was so “mayabang” He’s like, why did you buy me earmuffs? I was like “Ah ganun, wait till the race starts!”
My boyfriend is not an F1 fan, but after witnessing it, he was such a convert. He got so surprised at the deafening sound of the F1 cars as it passed by […]

Merdeka Square and Sultan Abdul Samad Building

Posted: September 5th, 2011 | No Comments »

Let’s go back to history a little bit.  I want you guys to learn a lot from my blog especially interesting stuff.  Don’t fall asleep reading this post okay?

Merdeka in Malay means Independence.  Just like the Philippines, Malaysia also struggled colonization from Britain.  Manila was also under the British rule around the 1700s for only 2 years.  Resistance was strong and it prevented the British folks to spread around the archipelago.

But don’t you ever wonder how it would be if they colonized us?  Think Harry Potter, Queen Elizabeth, The Spice Girls, David Beckham, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and of course and Mr. Bean 😛

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Malaysia was colonized by Britain for many many years.  Hence they drive on the left hand side of the road, and they have British sounding towns / places.

Why […]

It’s finally September! Ghost month is over and the fun starts again!
Up to now, I’m still unsure whether or not I will get to witness yet another live Formula 1 Grand Prix Season Singapore experience.
But if I do, there’s one girl I definitely would love to see perform live!
Shakira, Shakira!
Last year, I had a live blogging coverage about the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.  I got lucky and saw Lewis Hamilton walking down the race track on a Thursday night.  I also saw Jensen Button riding a bike, probably studying the track as well.  I flew via Singapore Airlines on business class on my flight back to Manila and it was a great experience for me!  Although, I flew to singapore on a regular ticket.  Definitely, there are better services and facilities for the business class […]

New Gadget!
I love gadgets! They make our lives easier and it could even save our lives!
You would all agree with me that traffic here in Manila is horrible and is very counter-productive. If I have to combine the time I get stuck in Manila traffic in a week, that would be 8 hours a week at least, in a year that’s 416 hours! What a waste.
Using your cellphone while driving is a no-no. I was caught by the police one time I was using my cellphone for a phone call. My excuse was, it was traffic anyway. But he insisted that what I did was still dangerous. And I have to agree guys, it’s dangerous not only to me but to other people as well. To my passenger, pedestrians and other […]

Don’t we all love boxes?!  It’s always such a mystery when you see one!  First, you assess if the box is big or small.  Then, you hold it… try to shake it and feel it!  Then you guess what’s inside.
It’s a gift, a surprise – but whatever it is, it exercises our brain to observe, guess and think!  Kinda like that Euphoria you get when you receive a boxed gift from someone but it’s rude to open it right away in front of them.
And since we love boxes and unboxing, here’s another store that will totally excite you!

Beyond the Box Opens New Apple Premium Reseller Store in Pasay City
Beyond the Box launched its new Apple Premium Reseller store at the Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila last August 26, 2011. The new […]
