On Wordcamp Philippines 2010 and Matt Mullenweg

Posted: October 13th, 2010 | No Comments »

Last October 2, 2010, WordPress users from different parts of the Philippines gathered at the College of Saint Benilde for the Wordcamp Philippines 2010. It is the 3rd Wordcamp in Metro Manila and my first time to be included in the list of speakers.

Months ago, Avatar Media asked me if I can do a talk regarding the Anatomy of a WordPress Blog, which is included at the Basic Track. I presented my straight-to-the-point slide to my students. I know that some of them find my talk a bit fast and too short, but I am happy that they openly asked questions and I hope I was able to answer them. Talking to some of them personally also made me feel a bit more comfortable and less worried Actually, I can see myself in some of them when I attended the first WordcampPH two years ago.
I’ll be honest here. […]

Sola Iced Tea Orange

Posted: October 10th, 2010 | No Comments »

Personally, one of the best tasting iced tea brand in the market today is Sola and it’s surprised me that I haven’t blogged about it here, until now. My all time favorite Sola Iced Tea flavor is Peach, but the other day, I decided to try the Orange flavor and see how this new variant […]

Melting Me Slowly in Haagen Dazs Island – Caramel Biscuit Haven

Posted: October 10th, 2010 | No Comments »

Last Wednesday was pretty hectic yet memorable day for me. I wasn’t able to get some sleep because I had to work on some articles for my freelance writing gigs. Our call time for the shoot is 9:30AM at GNN’s new studio. I published my last article at 7:30AM. In short, I just ate breakfast and went straight to the guesting with a sleepyhead T_T.

Trying to stay awake for the live guesting *sleepyhead alert!*

On my way there, the taxi driver even asked me if i was able to catch some sleep. Maybe he noticed my eyebags and I was drinking a cold mocha drink while on the cab. Listening to a Filipino novelty song in the morning helps to keep me awake, i guess.

Now Micamyx is in the studio! I’m glad to see Tita Janette, Jonas (again!? LOL) and Jay-L in GNN’s Lobby. Hannah and Vince arrived a few minutes […]

HTML/CSS/Web Design Guide for Amateur Web Designers

Posted: October 7th, 2010 | No Comments »

Who among you are new to the world of Website Development? Some amateur web designers are asking how to beautify their HTML Website into a stylish design. My answer is, after your HTML project, you need to build a CSS for your website to make a style. I can say that you can’t do this if you do not know what HTML/CSS is. Okay, here’s a summary description of HTML and CSS:
HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
• Markup Language
• The predominant markup language for web pages
• Building blocks of all basic websites
Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• Style sheet language
• Styles define how to display HTML elements
• Styles were added to HTML 4.0 to solve a problem
• External Style Sheets can save a lot of work
• External Style Sheets are stored in CSS files

I am here to give you a guide on how they work on your project. The first stage in […]

What’s really with PLDT Watchpad

Posted: October 5th, 2010 | No Comments »

Are you an internet addict who spends time in front of the computer more than watching TV or movie? Would you believe that there is a certain broadband provider which offers an optimal experience with the use of internet? I remember way back in 2002, our first internet connection was the dial-up. I just browse, […]

What’s the title of this movie?

Posted: October 1st, 2010 | No Comments »

I already tried to Google it, asked it on Yahoo Answers and Twitter, browsed Wikipedia, IMDB, and other movie forum sites, but to no avail. It has been 3 days and I still can’t figure out what’s the title of this movie that my father is looking for. He asked me to find it online because he wants to watch it, but I admit that I’m not that good in finding stuff. I can’t even find my lost phone inside my small room years back. Hehe.

Right now the only way I can think of is to ask my dear readers the title of this very film. If someone knows the title of this film, please leave a comment below. Once you’ve posted the title of the movie, I will verify it with my father if this is the film that he has been looking for.
Here are the hints that my […]

Pagbabago

It was one of those days where I wasn’t really feeling happy so I decided to go to any place where I can just be alone and think things through. I decided to go to SM since this was a place where most of my childhood memories formed when it comes to Sunday outings with […]

I Promise To Do My Assignment(s)

Posted: September 28th, 2010 | No Comments »

Assignment Overload! If only I can copy/paste everything…

I Promise To Do My Assignment.
I Promise To Do My Assignment.
I Promise To Do My Assignment.
I Promise To Do My Assignment.
I Promise To Do My Assignment.
Just like a Grade One student who failed to do her assignment, I think I need to re-write the sentence ‘I Promise To Do My Assignment.’ many times for me not to forget to do my assignment. I am just happy though that all i need to do is highlight the whole sentence, press CTRL+C and then CTRL+ V
Getting out of school doesn’t mean you don’t have any assignments to do, finish and submit to the right people. I am writing this list on my blog now as a reminder to myself and hopefully, i’d be able to accomplish everything before Saturday (or else I am soooo dead!)

Finalize Wordcamp Presentation – The 3rd Wordcamp Philippines is […]

Micamyx supports Alaminos, Pangasinan in Kraft Eden’s 100 Days of Christmas

Posted: September 27th, 2010 | No Comments »

Christmas is just around the corner. You can hear Christmas songs and you can even see Christmas decorations in homes, schools, offices and any other place you can possibly think of. Just like what they say, Christmas in the Philippines is more special compared to the other countries. Exchange Gifts, Christmas Parties and of course, the food served will surely be the highlight of every gathering you attend to.

Alaminos, Pangasinan – The Home of the Hundred Islands

Just last September 4, 2010, Kraft launched the world’s longest Christmas celebration with the Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas. Last year, I was able to join the Kraft Keso de Gallo in Pampanga on the 4th of December. The new project for this year is twice the fun and the excitement!
What makes this project unique? Well, 100 towns from different parts of the Philippines presents their Unique Dish, and the top […]

It’s time for another alcopop feature and for today, the limelight goes to Gilbey’s Premium Strength with Green Tea Extract. I was able to first try this one early this year and all I can remember now is that this tastes like light beer with gin. So if you like beer-gins, then you should try […]
