Singapore: Tiong Bahru, Pan Pacific, Orchard Road, and more!

Posted: October 25th, 2009 | No Comments »

I took 954 photos, 72,857 steps, met more than 20 new friends, tasted more than 10 different delicacies, and had an infinite number of priceless moments in Singapore. This is my first time to travel outside the Philippines, and I tell you, it was really awesome! I would like to congratulate all the winners of the first Asia Pacific Blog Awards spearheaded by Nuffnang Singapore.

Even if I didn’t win in my category, I feel that I’m already a winner (hehe, feeling lang). To be included in the finalists together with the most influential bloggers in Asia was truly remarkable. To be seated together with Kenny Sia, Wendy Cheng, Joanna Peh, and Nazuwan Amran was really an honor. And to be one of the lucky participants in the Singapore tour and the first Asia Pacific blog awards was undeniably unforgettable.

The Big Bang Theory – my weekend’s sweets and LOL

Posted: October 23rd, 2009 | No Comments »

Last week I started watching The Big Bang Theory. And because I had not much to do that weekend, I spent the whole Saturday marathon-ing season one.
I got hooked from the very first episode! I just can’t stop! Who wouldn’t like Sheldon, the child prodigy who got two PhDs …

Before I Say Hello to Singapore…

Posted: October 22nd, 2009 | No Comments »

It’s 2:05 in the morning (though my blog time stamp is not set well ) and I haven’t slept yet. I tried to get at least an hour of sleep, but I really can’t. I tried to pack all the things that I’ll be needing for the trip, but I kept on going back to the monitor.

Lolo: Where are you going? Mica: I'm going to Singapore, Lah!

I am used to last minute packing when I travel, but I know that this specific trip is extra special and somewhat a first for me. Actually, I still can’t believe up to this second that I’m about to go to Singapore to attend the Nuffnang Blog Awards.
For quite sometime, my grandparents and some of my nyok friends were forcing me to renew my passport, which expired last March 1999 (more than ten years ago!). The only country I went to is Hongkong […]

My Lips… Warm Like Coffee

Posted: October 22nd, 2009 | No Comments »

I was scrolling my list of youtube favorite videos and I encountered this music video again. Ten Years ago I was SO obsessed with Korean music that I learned how to read Korean and speak a little of it. I also learned how to RAP in Korean… but I deleted that video in youtube because of sheer embarrassment lolz.
Anyway… listen to this … If translated in English, it’s really poetic… One of my favorites… enjoy… and please read the translated lyrics Enjoy!

S#arp – My lips… like warm coffee Lyrics
——————————————————-

If you’ve ever been in love before I know you feel this beat
If you know it Don’t be shy and sing along
Don’t cry, it’s already a thing in the past
It’s only a point in life that goes against the rules
As you live life, it’s a point that everyone goes through
It’s only a process to become an adult.
YO! It’s […]

The First PBA ‘09 Visayas Awards Night

Posted: October 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

My third time in Cebu is very memorable and should I say ‘historical’ because I witnessed the first ever Philippine Blog Awards ‘09 Visayas Leg last October 19 at Ayala City Sports, Cebu City. The event was well-attended by Cebu-based bloggers, PBA Organizers, volunteers, press and media from the Queen City of the South.

PBA '09 Visayas Leg – Major Success!

Ada and I booked a flight to Cebu last month via Zestair (and I regret my choice of airline LOL). We originally wanted to go to Cebu then take an hour ride to Bohol for Saturday and go back to the City by Sunday morning to attend the awards night at the evening. Plans changed due to the weather reports and lack of funds
Our first day in Cebu with some of our Manila blogger friends is made of pure win. I got the chance to patch up with Pangga […]

Visiting Cebu for the Second Time

Posted: October 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

Our original plan is to travel in Bohol (from Cebu then take bus to Bohol), booking phail. Mica and I can’t deny the fact that we really miss Cebu, so we decided to stay.

Kuya Markku and Hana accompanied us, and together with other bloggers we headed to Talisay and eat lechon which we didn’t try during our 1st visit!

Tanke boys tumbling on the beach.
We dropped at Fort San Pedro Historical Park where we spent most of our time with lots of photo shoots. There I saw a tall white guy with flower on his ear. The flower looks gauze at first, making me think it’s a “toknat”. Looking closer, it’s a flower, but he’s not gay!

On the next day, it’s Philippine Blog Awards time. It was nice meeting all Cebu bloggers! They’re energetic!

The 3rd Philippine Blog Awards — Visayas Leg

Posted: October 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

I was ecstatic after we successfully concluded the Visayas Event of the Philippine Blog Awards last weekend (October 18, 2009) at Ayala City Sports, Cebu City. The event was not as extravagant as the Manila event but it was well attended by bloggers, media and a few sponsors from the Visayas region.
Three special awards were […]

Congratulations new CPAs of October 2009

Posted: October 19th, 2009 | No Comments »

It is never a waste to make a blog post to congratulate the new Certified Public Accountants.  I am one. I studied, struggled and passed and I know how it feels to take this specific journey!  It ain’t easy… It’s nerve-wrecking!  So to all of the passers… CONGRATULATIONS!

To those who did not find their names in the list… don’t worry… you can always take the board exam again… Like I DID!  Yes I took it twice!  Just believe that you can do it because  you really can… it’s just important to be more focused the second time around and learn from your mistakes on the first one.

Show me Love

Posted: October 18th, 2009 | No Comments »

It was a weekend like no other and my theme song is:

My friend has been looking for this song for TWO weeks because he heard this playing either at Embassy or some place else. He was like asking his friends if they know this song and all the lyrics he had was **TEN TEN-TEN NENEN TEN TEN-TEN TEN TEN**
But yeah he bought like three CDs. Two from Big Fish Manila’s album and another one from Embassy’s album and LOL he spent all that just to find this song.
All I’m saying is, I feel for him because this almost always happens to me! Music-HUNTING!
