I have always considered Cafe Xocolat in Loyola Heights as a very cozy place to hangout. It’s a Wifi hotspot, and it is always nice to indulge in reasonably-priced quality chocolate products….

Word is that Yahoo! Philippines will announce Monday that they had hired Jack Madrid as its new Country Manager.
According to his Linkedin Profile, Jack’s had two decades worth of experience in BPO, media, banking and venture capital. A graduate of Wharton, he specializes in call center management, strategic planning, media & marketing and commercial banking. Prior to his new gig, Jack was senior executive for Dell International Services, a contact center in the Mall of Asia. His impressive work portfolio also includes MTV, Ayala Corporation and Citibank.
Yahoo! Philippines has taken great strides in boosting its brand awareness locally, most recently through the Yahoo! Purple Hunt, which took participants all Metro Manila to find “clues” to win prizes. I surmise that Mr. Madrid’s hiring is in lieu of something bigger. What it might be, I have no clue. Yahoo! does have a General Manager for […]

August 8, 2009 – The night Patay Gutom was proclaimed as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009. Too bad I wasn’t able to attend the event because I was in Cebu City.
Looking at Cebu City – Queen of the South
So how was my second day in Cebu? Well, I slept the whole morning. The Kemboteras namely Eric, Aaron and Shena arrived in the Hotel that morning and went straight to CnT Lechon. I, on the other hand had different plans. We will be riding the popular Edge Coaster, meet up with a cousin whom I never met before and dinner with the Cebu Bloggers Society at Larsian’s Barbeque.
McBilly, Angelo and I met up at Crown Regency Plaza for the Edge Coaster ride. Though the entrance fee is expensive, I still pushed through with the plan. I guess watching the Trip na Trip Edge Coaster episode at one of […]

Last Thursday, me and my cousin Chari went for another spontaneous hangout at Greenbelt 3 in Makati. Due to the traffic that night before the holiday last Friday, we were not able to make it on time…

August 7, 2009 is a day of many firsts- my first Cebu Pacific Air ride, first time to meet Cebu-based friends and relatives and first time in Cebu!
Nico, Bong and Mica at NAIA Terminal 3
Bong and I together with his friend Nico met up at NAIA terminal 3. They arrived way earlier that’s why I was seated far away from them T_T. Thank God we reached Mactan Airport on time. I was happy to see an anonymous driver waiting for me. A relative of mine which I haven’t met asked his driver to bring me to a friend’s house. I ate my brunch before sleeping for a few hours.
I met up with McBilly, Angelo and Van at Ayala Cafe Terraces. We had no itinerary or whatever, but we managed to go to Waterfront for Camwhoring (since I wanted to take at least 200 pictures for Day 1 LOL), The Walk, […]

Disappointing Loser waves today…
At least there are some baby waves towards the late afternoon so I better not complain before the waves completely turn their back on me.
We are staying at San Juan Surf Camp now. We are like 20 people plus DKS friends and their friends (6). They are staying in Sebay though because Surf Camp is full-booked the weekend.
It’s the first time that I am here in Friday. Friday is actually the “Green Zinc” project clean-up day where the locals clean the shores from seaweed and unwanted trash just to keep and preserve the La Union shore.
There’s nothing more sexier than seeing Luke Landrigan raking those seaweeds out of the shore! **Faints** You gals should be here on Fridays lol.
Playing on the Surf Camp music now is “Somewhere over the Rainbow” in Ukelele… It’s a lovely tune, relaxing and chillin ^_^
Absolutely amazing sunset at La Union today… but […]

Looking at surfers, you might thought that surfing is not easy. But with Billabong Surf School and Stoked Inc. Team headed by May 2009 Men’s Health magazine cover Luke Landrigan, surfing made easy!
First step, is paddling. Paddle like a dog.
Luke Landrigan telling us not to look at the board while standing!
During the preparation to stand, don’t put too much weight on one side of your foot. You have to keep balance while preparing to stand!
Tried standing balancing with my arms. Effective!

I watched Disney’s UP in 3D Digital last night at Greenbelt 3. This is the second full 3D Digital movie I watched, Ice Age 3 3D being the first.
Just yesterday, August 20, Ayala Cinemas ran their second installation of 3D Digital theater at Greenbelt 3 Cinema 1 with Disney’s UP as it’s first 3D movie. […]

Deadlines. Dead lines.Don’t you just love beating deadlines? It is the timeframe you impose to yourself on how long a specific task must be completed. I remember asking my teachers to extend the deadline of our projects and assignments way back in high school. We were trained to submit everything on the dot or else we will be suffering the consequences.
You Have a Deadline to Beat. Stop Plurking!
As a student, I always thought that i’ll be able to escape from this deadline thing once I step out of school, but no. On my first home-based job as a virtual assistant, I was trained by my superiors to finish all my tasks (including daily reports) on a certain time. We rarely had extentions. I thought I could bum around as a work-at-home lady, but no. Thinking about a certain deadline before sleeping and being reminded asap when you wake up is […]

I have an issue, I can’t really blog when I know many people are blogging about some certain topic or that someone blogged about something first before me, unless it would make my blog totally different from them. That’s why sometimes I don’t blog-hop even though I want to. I don’t want to find out what other people are blogging. Well not yet, until I think I have released the clog in my blog bowl.
Seriously, at this stage my project in my office is just getting a little bit more stable. With this, it’s just now that I had the time to breathe, to look at my blog again… to blog again… attend events again… redesign my blog (layout, content-wise and ads positioning) See I don’t earn much from this blogging. That’s because I don’t have much time.
I have declined many event invites and I have witnessed plurk updates and […]

Somewhere last Friday, Cebu’s very own local television: RCTV, launched their new website RCTV.com.ph and also their uber cool new logo in Crossroads Vudu. The first logo was okay, but the second logo, this new one is actually the bomb! Giving way to its revolutionized concept, I actually like the way it looks.

My bladder is all painful due to the alcohol I have been drinking these days >.<Â And worse, I got my monthly visitor and I have to update my calendar on anewyou.com.ph The website usually sends me an SMS reminder 3 or 2 days before my period but I got mine early this month… weird…
Anyway, more work today… Partied heavy last night though I missed one event that I so wanted to go because Mo Twister is the host. It was Freeway’s event but sadly my work got in the way so, paiseh to Freeway’s PR I would have really wanted to be there!
I went to TV5’s launch at mag:net though. They launched their late night shows and TV5 is really rockin’ the TV industry! They are growing and I love all the well-thought shows they have. I met quite a few new people, some old ones and new acquaintances. […]

Yoohooo! It’s my first time in La Union! We arrived around 8AM. First time is always so special, taking some photos would be great.
The last time I went to the beach was when I was in 3rd year College in Bagac, Bataan. I did not hesitate to join the Let’s Go Sago Surfing since the event is mainly for the benefit of WWF and the opportunity to surf is once in a lifetime experience.
The time we arrived was extremely hot.
It’s 8AM but the sun is madly directed to the earth causing the sand terribly hot and dry.
The sky is very clear. Hearing the sound of the waves, the banging of the waves to the rocks…
… and quiet laugh from children playing at far are really relaxing.
Then suddenly food for breakfast came…
After a while, I’ve fallen asleep… Part 3 to be continued.
If you are looking for more photos from the […]
