Cirque du Soleil is back in Manila!  After their successful show “Varekai” here in Manila, they are back for Saltimbanco!

I am so fond of watching acrobats and the circus, minus the clown because I don’t like clowns.  But, in all fairness their clowns were too funny for me to get awkward in my seat!
DID I JUST SAY FUNNY? funny, entertaining and inspiring (for me) as a pole athlete and fitness enthusiast.  The artists are awesome and I like dreaming big.  For my fitness goal, my dream is to join the Olympics (when they include Pole in the future) or join an elite Circus like Cirque du Soleil.  I’m one ambitious girl but I’ve got nothing to lose if I dream big, don’t I?
YES, this show is a must-watch!  Check out more […]

A close encounter with the largest and longest Python

Posted: August 9th, 2012 | No Comments »

Baclayon Church and Prony’s Sanctum are both situated in Albuquerque, Bohol. So, after a quick visit to Baclayon Church, our driver led us to Albur’s star Prony, the largest and longest python in captivity. Getting to know Prony Prony was named after her captor, Sofronio Salibay. Prony is a female and was captured on October […]

Have you heard of micro-vacations? I’ve read an article before about a guy who has been working in a hospital for psychiatric patients who always manage to go on micro-vacations every day off from work to release his stress and keep in touch with reality. In the article, he was asked about the difference between vacations and […]

It has been a decade of operations for AirAsia and now that they are moving in to their second decade, they want to do more for their promise “Now Everyone Can Fly.”
Today, August 7, 2012 in Jakarta Indonesia, AirAsia Group launched their regional hub in Jakarta Indonesia – location separate from the operations of their different AirAsia headquarters, yet a place full of economic growth and opportunities as explained by AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandez.
I was psyched to be a part of the press con, together with other publications and media such as CNN, Al Jazeera, NBC, Fox and many more.  It’s a milestone event for me as a hybrid journalist/reporter/blogger.  Just as this day is a milestone for me, same is true with AirAsia asean who aims for the […]

One of the world’s largest low-cost airline’s regional base was officially launched in Jakarta today.
AirAsia aims to commit to the Asean region which it considers its home.  The new regional base aims to focus on the regional expansion strategy of the group.
It was great to be surrounded with media all over the world from publications and TV stations I look up to worldwide.
Just like this moment is significant for me in the world of media, AirAsia’s goal is the same for the whole world to be accessible to everyone.  To make the world smaller for everyone to travel more, truly apt for their mission “Now everyone can Fly”

Studying and Learning English: One of the top reasons why people travel to London

Posted: August 7th, 2012 | No Comments »

Previously at work, I conducted a little research on how my workmates learn English (since we work in a corporate environment with global customers) and it turned out that reading and watching English TV shows were on top of the list. Others highlighted that traveling abroad with English as an official language is also a […]

I’m a huge fitness advocate. I believe that being “fit” adds quality to your life. You enjoy life when you can freely move and do your everyday chores, and more when you do extraordinary things once in a while. What I mean is, you can’t enjoy “life” when you always feel sick and sluggish. I’ve been on that stage and I think that was the main cause of my self-diagnosed depression. It was horrible times until I finally discovered how fun it is to live “The Good Life” – hence my blog’s tagline.
“Live the Sweet Life with FlairCandy.”
Exercise
We all know this is important. Exercise keeps our heart healthy. I notice that when I exercise, my skin feels healthier too! I’m not sure about the exact science, but I’m sure the […]

Inside the Mint Museum of Toys

Posted: August 5th, 2012 | No Comments »

The Mint Museum of Toys was actually part of our Uniquely Singapore tour experience last October 2009. The large reason why I blogged about this was because I stumbled upon a travel website with bad reviews about this place. One of the reviewers complained that the lighting was extremely poor. Pardon my french, but whut-duh.fish, […]

How to Get to Guimaras (from Iloilo City)

Posted: August 4th, 2012 | No Comments »

KBCKTY3R8DMZ I knew you are planning a trip to Guimaras and you stumbled upon this page. Getting to Guimaras is pretty easy. There is no direct flight to Guimaras, you will need to fly to Iloilo to get to Guimaras. Ride a jeepney or a taxi going to Iloilo City harbor, then take a 15-minute […]

What locals think about Filipinos: A night of solo backpacking in Singapore

Posted: August 2nd, 2012 | No Comments »

After leaving my heavy backpack in a friendly hostel along the stretch of Serangoon Road, I decided to take a walk to Singapore’s “Little India”. I passed by several Indian restaurants which, to my disbelief, spoiled foods were just thrown out at the street sides and made the road smelled of a curry – so […]

Cinemalaya 2012 Awards Night Photos and Highlights

The Cinemalaya Film Festival 2012 ended last Sunday with the awards night. I can say that this year’s line-up is just as good as last year (or even better!). When you ask the moviegoers who were able to watch the films, they have different answers on which among the competing films are their top three […]

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, fresh and standing still

Posted: August 1st, 2012 | No Comments »

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is the one of the youngest lighthouses I’ve seen. It was built in 1900s by the Americans yet tough and firm. The lighthouse was also featured in Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez’ film few years ago entitled, “The Promise,” where the two had an intense love making scene. Adjacent to the lighthouse, […]
