Returning Home and Leaving Three Days After

Posted: June 7th, 2009 | No Comments »

Due to the sudden pain on the chest and the accidental findings on my x-ray, I decided to take a leave at work and go back home to Dagupan for a few days.

Riding the bus and sitting for five hours is not a joke. I think this is the main reason why I seldom go to Dagupan. I mean, I should be there at least once a month to check my grandparents, right? But due to the stress and bus transportation fare, I usually go there once in every three months. The last time I went home is mainly for the Search Engine Optimization lecture at Urdaneta City with Sir Gary and Mam Janette.
Anyway, I arrived there at 2pm last Sunday. I caught my grandfather working on his new HP Mini. Yes, he has a smaller and better toy than I do He told me that he appreciates Chrome […]

A Necessary Hiatus

Posted: June 7th, 2009 | 1 Comment »

May was my blog’s month. It was my anniversary. I got featured in Nuffnang as blogger of the month. I had many event invites which some I really had to decline because it is conflict with my new work shift. I met awesome bloggers from Cebu… and many more awesome things happened!
May is also the peak of my new project assignment at work and I’m tellin yah… It is pretty brutal for those who do not have the heart of a workaholic.
May is also the time where we got a lot of visitors! Like really a-lot and that always means that I don’t sleep at my room. Sigh. So even at home, instead of me regaining energy and rest, I had to feel more stress and uncomfort…
I think I just had too many demands from everything (work is 70%, home 20 %, blog […]

Savory Talangkanin Recipe of Jillian at Kaya Restaurant

Posted: June 6th, 2009 | No Comments »

“Aligue Bibimbap” otherwise known as Talangkanin is an inspired secret recipe dish from Jillian (Angel Locsin) of “Only You”, an ABS-CBN’s Koreanovela remake.

With meal price of P210.00 for Kaya Express branches, you get to savor the deletable taste of the famous Talangkanin meal. Talangkanin or Aligue Bibimbap (Bibimbap meaning mixed rice) would probably the reason why TJ and Jonathan fell in love with Chef Jillian.

The recipe includes a mix of squids, shrimps, aligue, togue, carrots, egg and savory red rice which made the taste deletable! It’s fun mixing the dish, I felt like a Korean. LOL. The taste is long lasting and I can’t even stop eating. I feel sorry for those who have seafood allergies.

Koreans are fond of eating mixed foods in rice. They eat audibly like you’re getting hungry too.

Kimchi is always present when it comes to eating Korean food. The kimchi above is a cabbage […]

Honoring Filipino Ancestors: Building Balangay

Posted: June 5th, 2009 | No Comments »

The Voyage of the Balangay has just started last June 2009. In Manila, the Balangay landed near Harbor Square, Manila Bay. We conquered the stormy weather just to experience the great ancient vessel: the Balangay.
Balangay was used by our ancestors to sail across the the oceans. I’ve seen it personally and I can say that this kind of boat is amazing and built faithfully. It is huge, and looks invulnerable to ocean waves.

The main objective of The Voyage of Balangay is Boat Building. The authentic Balangay will be crafted by master boat builders from the Island of Sibutu and Sitangkay in Tawi-Tawi, whose skills had been handed down through generations.
This will not only showcase the capability of the Filipino boat builders but would also be our way of instilling and propagating the idea among the present Filipinos, particularly the youth, that the Filipinos have been world-class boat builders even […]

Mr. Alleba

Posted: June 4th, 2009 | No Comments »

I can still recall my high school days. I was once addicted to creating fan sites for my favorite local celebrities which includes Cogie Domingo, Tanya Garcia among others. As a newbie webmistress, I registered a number of accounts at Geocities. Because of this, I managed to avail a number of unlimited hosting accounts at Dreamhost.

Mr. Alleba and Micamyx the fangirl

Search Engine Optimizations and blogs are not yet popular way back. I had to submit the URLs of my fansites manually for my site to be visible at the search results.
One of the search engines which offers site directories which is created and maintained by a Filipino is Alleba. I remember inserting a code at the homepage of my fansites to be approved by the moderator. I was jumping for joy when one day, I found my links at the site directory.
Now fast forward to 2008: I attended […]

Reality Wedding by Buddy Gancenia

Posted: June 4th, 2009 | No Comments »

I remember the first time I met Buddy Gancenia, a famous Filipino wedding videographer during his short lecture on video editing at Discovery Suites. He showed to us some of his sample works and my, I am really impressed! I even joked around that if ever I’ll get married with my prince charming someday, I want him to do the memorable event.
I got the chance to work with him early this year for my first ever short film. I know that he is best known by his clients and by bloggers because of his wedding videography works, but I can say that he can soon venture into other means of video coverage. Sir Buddy is also easy to work with – he is quiet but he is also strict. He can perfectly embody a professional wedding videographer – I swear!

We all know that June is Bride’s month. If you are […]

While searching for something to drink inside a gas station convenience store, I noticed this odd looking bottle which I first thought was just plain mineral water.
Upon closer inspection, I discovered that it’s a product called Nature’s Spring Flavored Water. My curiosity got the better of me and so I purchased it.
At first, I wanted […]

A blogger like me likes attending events. This includes press conferences, products launches, exhibits, food events, etc and these events are nothing without events organizer. New Lens for my D90

I recently bought my D90 a new lens. The 55-200mm is the newest addition to my own set of lenses. It’s my basic zoom lens. I still need to get a few more lenses to complete my basic set.  Kuya Blogie was right when he said I’m engaging myself into an expensive hobby. *sigh* . […]
