Bagyong Pepeng in Northern Luzon

Posted: October 9th, 2009 | No Comments »

Just this morning, I read some Plurks of concerned individuals regarding the present condition of provinces like Benguet, La Union and Pangasinan wherein Bagyong Pepeng is keeping the provinces devastated with the heavy rain pours and strong winds.

As someone who resided in Pangasinan since birth, I can say that the people in our province are used to this scenario already. I admire how my fello Pangasinense are able to cope up with such tragedy despite the fact that Norther Luzon received less media exposure and donations way back.
The cyber bayanihan through Facebook, Twitter and Plurk done during the Bagyong Ondoy season proven that Bayanihan still exist among us Filipinos. Now, our brothers and sisters from up north needs your help.

Just last night, I heard via DZMM livestream that around 1000 people were stranded in SM Rosales in […]

When TV Stars Become Superheroes in Real Life

Posted: October 8th, 2009 | No Comments »

The attack of Typhoon Ondoy in the country especially in Metro Manila taught a lot of Manilenyos an important lesson in terms of choosing the location of our investments, stocking some food for emergency, staying at home to look after your properties and your family’s safety and much more. Since I came from a city where typhoon strikes at least twice a year, I can say that I am already used to this scenario and up to this day, I am still amused on how my fellow Pangasinense can cope up with such unfortunate events (will write more about this on my upcoming blog post).

Posted: October 8th, 2009 | No Comments »

To travel in all Asian countries — it is in my bucket list. I’ve never traveled outside country, but given the opportunity to travel, Singapore would be my very first and memorable place to be! Traveling to SG would be possible through Nuffnang!

Sentosa shot.
It will be my first time!! So I’ve got to plan my 1-day DREAM itinerary!! Yay!!
It will all start in food!
8 AM – Laksa for breakfast or Nasi Lemak at the nearest coffee shop!
9 AM – Sentosa! I’m gonna buckle up for this one. The famous spot in Singapore! Will not miss this very popular resort in Singapore.
I gotta try the Tiger Sky Tower, Sentosa 4D Magix, and The Flying Trapeze. I love heights!
It seems hard to get away from Sentosa, I just wanna feel the place more, walk, and take more photos. But I need to tour more! MERLION!

Micamyx is my choice

Posted: October 7th, 2009 | No Comments »

Micamyx is my choice for Philippine Blog Award’s Blogger’s Choice!

Why?
OMG Are you FREAKIN SERIOUS! She’s like one of the first persons I knew in the Philippine Blogosphere and you know what that means… she reaches out to newbies… newbie like I was before!  I have all the reasons to definitely vote for her!
She’s a really great writer and I admire her very much for that!  Perhaps it’s because she has converted every experience she had (or her friends’) into a creative writing.  She can produce great scripts for a movie at a coffee shop with just pen and paper!  Really she’s a great talent waiting to shine!  There is no doubt I’m voting for her and well isn’t it obvious who my choice is by now?
Not only is she professional in her writing but she can direct as well!  Check out her site micamyx.com for samples of her movies.   I […]

What’s in store for The 12th of June?

Posted: October 6th, 2009 | No Comments »

Last January, I produced and directed my first ever short film called Kuya Bunso. The story evolves around two siblings named Jess (Jehzeel Laurente) and Jackie (Cai Abbass). The eldest is a twenty something special child while the youngest is a goal-driven seventeen year old. I used the script I wrote for the Sinelab workshop I attended last year. I am happy with the outcome of the project because my blogger friends helped me out in terms of agreeing to do the film for free and for helping me out with the technicalities.

Three months ago, I wrote a script about a virtual assistant who is about to face her fears on a specific date. The title of the short film is The 12th of June. It is somewhat similar with one of my blog entries I wrote way back in June.

A Journey Home – A Film About Family and Forgiveness

Posted: October 5th, 2009 | No Comments »

PAGASA advised everyone to stay in their homes for the weekend since Bagyong Pepeng is about to invade the country. However, I went out to use my gift certificate from a Spa center in The Podium and went straight to SM Megamall to watch a movie with Maire.
Before going out, Maire invited me to watch the independent film ‘A Journey Home‘. She said a friend gave her two premiere night tickets. As a certified Toni Gonzaga fan, I accepted the invitation.

A Journey Home premiere night tickets

When we reached the venue, we saw Toni Gonzaga, Direk Paul Soriano and Joem Bascon outside the cinema. Toni looked simple yet sophisticated (love her shoes!). She and Direk Paul look good together and you can really see that they’re a nice couple. I love Joem Bascon’s badboy look. The last time I saw him was way back in 2007, where he was […]

Bottomless Coffee and More At Bag of Beans Tagaytay

Posted: October 4th, 2009 | No Comments »

If you’re going to Tagaytay, then be sure you go to Bag of Beans. Forget Starbucks and other coffee shops that also have branches in the city – if you want coffee, this is definitely one of the best places to be.
